Coastal Waters Forecast for Texas
National Weather Service Houston/Galveston TX
For High Island to the Matagorda Ship Channel Out 60 NM including Galveston and Matagorda Bays.
Upper Texas coastal waters from High Island to the Matagorda Ship Channel out 60 nautical miles including Galveston and Matagorda Bays. Seas are provided as a range of the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves.along with the occasional height of the average highest 10 percent of the waves. Scattered showers and isolated storms are anticipated this morning in the coastal areas.eventually transitioning inland during the afternoon. This evening, especially the Galveston Bay area to about Freeport, mariners should monitor the latest forecasts before beginning their transits. A broken band of showers and storms developing in northeast Texas should sag close, or into the region this evening and potentially into the Galveston Bay area between 8pm and midnight. If they maintain their strength, wind gusts to, or above, 30 knots will be the main threat. Look for increasing rain chances and increased easterly winds and seas during the second half of the week.
