Coastal Waters Forecast for Texas

FOR THE MIDDLE TEXAS COASTAL WATERS.

Middle Texas coastal waters from Baffin Bay to Matagorda ship channel out to 60 nautical miles. Seas are provided as a range of the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves.along with occasional height of the average highest 10 percent of the waves. The Small Craft Advisory remains in effect through Sunday morning in response to a persistent strong onshore flow across the marine zones with occasional gusts up to 35 knots possible. Winds may weaken slightly tonight, but will quickly ramp up by early Saturday with seas remaining elevated. A few showers and thunderstorms have developed along the coast and nearshore waters which could persist through this evening as a weak disturbance tracks over the area. The strong onshore flow is expected to linger through Sunday night, leading to additional Small Craft Advisory conditions. Winds will diminish Monday with weak to moderate onshore flow persisting through the upcoming week. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible daily Sunday through the upcoming week.
