Coastal Waters Forecast for Northeast Florida/Southeast Georgia
National Weather Service Jacksonville FL
Atlantic Coastal Waters from Altamaha Sound GA to Flagler Beach FL out to 60 nm. Seas are provided as a range of the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves, along with the occasional height of the average highest 1/10 of the waves. A frontal boundary along the FL/GA line has stalled over the northeast Florida waters and will dissipate tonight. Meanwhile, strong high pressure off the northeast coast will wedge down the coastline beginning this afternoon, resulting in strengthening onshore winds and building seas. Small Craft Advisory conditions develop early Saturday for offshore waters making it to the inland waters by the afternoon and into Saturday night. Caution conditions prevailing elsewhere across our local waters. High pressure will then shift southward while gradually weakening late this weekend, becoming anchored off the southeastern seaboard for much of next week. Winds and seas will gradually diminish from Sunday afternoon through the early portions of the upcoming week. .GULF STREAM. The approximate location of the west wall of the Gulf Stream as of Apr 25, 2024 at 1200 UTC. 64 nautical miles east of Flagler Beach. 73 nautical miles east of Saint Augustine Beach. 82 nautical miles east of Jacksonville Beach. 90 nautical miles east southeast of St Simons Island.
