Coastal Waters Forecast for Florida

Gulf coastal waters from Bonita Beach to the mouth of the Suwannee River out to 60 NM. Important notice to mariners.marine forecasts are issued at least four times a day. Boaters on extended trips should routinely monitor subsequent forecast issuances and updates for the latest marine weather information. The wave heights are forecast as significant wave height which is the average of the highest one-third of the waves. The highest waves may rarely be twice the significant wave height. The winds and seas near thunderstorms may be higher than forecast. Light winds and seas continue through remainder of the week. Main hazard early today will be areas of dense fog across the northern and central near shore waters including Tampa Bay which should lift by mid to late morning. A few showers are possible this afternoon as a weak frontal boundary moves across the region. Sea fog will also be possible Saturday night across the near shore northern and central waters. A stronger cold front will move through Sunday and Monday with widespread showers and a chance of thunderstorms. Winds will increase to near advisory levels. High pressure will build back over the region behind the front mid week with winds and seas subsiding. &&
