National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL
A cold front will continue to move through the waters this evening with increasing southerly winds and building seas. Storms will also be pushing south out of the area early this evening ahead of the front. Behind the front, strong high pressure will build into the area with northerly flow increasing to Small Craft Advisory levels into Tuesday. Winds veer to northeast by Wednesday morning, but a moderate pressure gradient will keep elevated winds around 10 to 15 knots and seas around 2 to 4 feet over portions of the waters through most of the week.
Gulf coastal waters from Bonita Beach to the mouth of the Suwannee River out to 60 NM. Important notice to mariners.marine forecasts are issued at least four times a day. Boaters on extended trips should routinely monitor subsequent forecast issuances and updates for the latest marine weather information. The wave heights are forecast as significant wave height which is the average of the highest one-third of the waves. The highest waves may rarely be twice the significant wave height. The winds and seas near thunderstorms may be higher than forecast. &&
