Coastal Waters Forecast for Florida

Gulf coastal waters from Bonita Beach to the mouth of the Suwannee River out to 60 NM. Important notice to mariners.marine forecasts are issued at least four times a day. Boaters on extended trips should routinely monitor subsequent forecast issuances and updates for the latest marine weather information. The wave heights are forecast as significant wave height which is the average of the highest one-third of the waves. The highest waves may rarely be twice the significant wave height. The winds and seas near thunderstorms may be higher than forecast. A cold front moving through the eastern gulf waters today will produce scattered showers and increasing winds and seas. Hazardous marine conditions expected starting this morning and has prompted the issuance of a Small Craft Advisory for all the eastern gulf waters including Tampa Bay and Charlotte Harbor for winds around 20- 25 knots with gusts near 30 knots and seas 5-9 feet. Conditions slowly improve on Saturday to around 10-15 knots and seas 2-4 feet. Pleasant marine conditions continue into the weekend and the first half of next week with winds around 10 knots and seas 2 feet or less expected. &&
