Coastal Waters Forecast for Florida
National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL
Gulf coastal waters from Bonita Beach to the mouth of the Suwannee River out to 60 NM. Important notice to mariners.marine forecasts are issued at least four times a day. Boaters on extended trips should routinely monitor subsequent forecast issuances and updates for the latest marine weather information. The wave heights are forecast as significant wave height which is the average of the highest one-third of the waves. The highest waves may rarely be twice the significant wave height. The winds and seas near thunderstorms may be higher than forecast. A front pushing through during the day will bring a quick change in wind direction and speed. Ahead of the front we will see winds around 5 knots out of the southwest. After the front winds will shift northerly and quickly pick up to 20 to 25 knots. These breezier conditions will last through Monday morning before slowly dropping through Tuesday. Winds look to be the calmest on Wednesday with 5 to 10 knots out of the northeast. However another front will push through on Wednesday night. This will bring a chance of showers over the waters on Wednesday night and winds will quickly increase to 15 to 20 knots by Thursday. &&
