FOR THE TIDAL POTOMAC AND MD PORTION OF THE CHESAPEAKE BAY.
Tidal Potomac River and Maryland portion of Chesapeake Bay. Forecasts of wave heights do not include effects of wind direction relative to tidal currents. Expect higher waves when winds are blowing against the tidal flow. Waves flat where waters are iced over. Broad high pressure will gradually retreat northward into Quebec through Monday. One area of low pressure may pass south of the area Monday into Tuesday, with a second low moving closer by Wednesday into Thursday. Low pressure will continue north and east along the coast Friday with a weak cold front set to cross the waters Saturday Small Craft Advisories will likely be needed late Monday through Friday.Marginal gale conditions are possible Thursday afternoon and evening.
